And if once more Cult Of Luna did it again, for we had been waiting since the wonderful and unique "Somewhere Along the Highway" Swedes we are again delight with an album that lives up to its reputation and remains one of the greatest in a very saturated genre by imitations ...

personally after having heard so many times I see it more along the lines of "Salvation" as in the former has less time flying and is a more direct and hard disk, that if the moments "landscape" that are already the band's trademark still like the penultimate item which is an instrumental that sums up the concept and what the band wants to convey the listener, I was surprised the use of what looks like a wind instrument in the interlude "The Lure" and the brilliant "Betula Following" a detail I loved, the songs are all impressive, but "Ghost Trail" and "Listen Deep" I think the disk is stolen temazos two please ... no doubt the album that I liked so far this year

The concept album is based on a statement that the found band members rehearsing in the room where apparently the building where was the room had once been a mental institution, that letter was a story called " Tales From The Eternal Kingdom" and was written by a patient who was confined there for murdering his wife ...

"There's a strange story behind the album and how we meat up with the title. For the last couple of years we've Been Rehearsing in What is Actually an old mental institution Outside town about 45 mins - it Was a mental institution in the 1920's - and when to we clean out Our rehearsal room we found All These boxes with junk in, That They Had Been Seemed like forgotten for a long time.Everything from medical journals to paintings by the Patients Patients and Things had done. And we also found a journal entitled “Tales from the Eternal Kingdom”, complete with pictures and poems and words, that a patient named Holger Nilsson had written at the time"

Johannes continues: "Holger Nilsson we since found out was a guy that was sentenced for his wife’s murder and was incarcerated for life. The notebook shows that it was a really interesting world he was living in – we’re not claiming to be psychiatrists or anything like that and able to make a good diagnosis of his mental state, but it’s clear to us that he was not living in our world. So basically the whole album “Eternal Kingdom” takes us through his disturbed world from his perspective and mind, as recounted in the journal"

"The whole story started off by him blaming her death on this gypsy-like man that he met on the road home to his village, Yttre Akulla."

"It seems like he drowned his wife in the creek just outside of Yttre Akulla. It was obviously a very tragic event. His wife was in labour having a baby, and he had to run to neighbouring village Bygeda to get a doctor. On the way to Bygeda he met this gypsy character, and he asked him to look after his wife whilst he ran to the village for a doctor – he was only away a short time, but when he returned to her, the baby was stillborn and his wife was in really bad shape, upset about losing the child, and she died in the creek shortly afterwards. The gypsy had disappeared."

"Holger believes she was killed by the Necken. In Old Swedish folk tales there is a creature called the Necken who it is believed was Satan. The Necken plays on his fiddle and lures women to their doom, like the sirens in Greek mythology tricking sailors to their death."

"During the night he sees a bright light in the forest and he starts walking towards it, sneaking through the bushes, all around the fire he sees these different animals and animal-hybrids – Kumans (half-man, half-bear). It later turns out that these are the 'evil' animals. They are dancing around faster and faster and faster, and in the middle of the ring he sees the gypsy - as they make eye contact, the gypsy transforms into an owl/man hybrid - this Owlman is known as Ugin, the Owl King. The Owl starts to scream, which causes the animals to give chase to Holger - so he runs away back to his house."

"The next morning there’s a knock at the door, and he’s very nervous but it’s one of the “good” animals. He gets taken to the good animals that are led by the Capercally. They have some secret information. The Capercally King tells him about this wood, this forest and the schism between the good and evil animals, and the Owl King Ugin that governs this whole evil land. The good animals had some information from a spy that will give them an advantage against the evil creatures. The good animals are not fighting creatures, but they get this information that they have a good chance to attack Ugin. So they all go and fight, but the information is false and they're surrounded and captured, so the story ends up that Holger gets sent to a dungeon in a mountain. Our interpretation is that this dungeon he’s sent to is his view of his incarceration."

Johannes handed in the journal which became civic property, and is expected to be displayed in the Osterbotten museum at some point.

Johannes reflects on the impact the find made on him: "When as a band, you unexpectedly find something like this it’s not a question of IF you’re going to do something about it. It’s an epiphany, It Had to Be The album concept, Though it was very Challenging to make the album's music re-tell the story in the journal-not just lyrics, But Also the music to match Such an intriguing idea and concept. "

These days you can say I'm back to rediscover my passion for Death Metal, I'm over the head with many new groups that I discovered thanks to Last.fm (yep although many people say that no, it can be very useful) and rediscovering amazing bands and records, and as always my favorite band Immolation can not miss, from my blog yesterday and I noticed a mistake which was not had a post about this great band ...

My admiration for Immolation born not too long ago actually made about 3 years came when one day my colleague Eugene asked me if I could get online a cd of a group of Death Metal scene in New York, said cd was "Harnessing Ruin", until then all normal, I got the cd and I got to hear (stating that at that time I had quit the scene of Death to a time and was involved in the Doom head basically) ...

The truth is that I put the disc and said mmm ... their sound came to me very much, this combination of dark and extreme brutality is what struck me at the first hearing, I believe that few death metal bands manage to do what makes Immolation, create music with those environments and stifling desperation.

In a world full of copies of this group was able to make a proposal by a particular sound sincere is his flag and I think that is what makes people hallucinate with their records and that the cd I was hearing was "Harnessing Ruin "Maybe not the best of their discography (which does not mean it is bad), to touch me" I have to get the other cds, and so was I put in the field and got, after listening to the wonderful " Close to a World Below "and" Unholy Cult "I knew I was at my favorite Death Metal band no doubt very dark and crushing sound of guitars, dissonant riffs these house brand that only the great Bob Vigna can create and brutal and unmistakable voice of Ross Dolan are in my opinion the flag and the letter of Immolation, a band he created a unique sound and difficult to imitate, you can listen to thousands of groups of Death which in most you can say "ahh yeah, this sounds like so and so", but when you hear a CD of Immolation Immolation know is that they alone are able to create that sound so personal and overwhelming ... The truth is that Linux is well accustomed to me what is the soundness and efficiency of a good operating system and returning to Win one returns to the harsh reality (?) And these unexplained errors a life that leave you with the face that showed a few lines above ...
